Behavioral Fit and Implementation Tool (B-FIT Ed)
Please read the following before beginning
Purpose
The B-FIT Ed is a structured decision-support tool used to evaluate whether a behavioral intervention is appropriately designed for implementation within a specific educational environment. The tool focuses on environmental fit, feasibility, and implementation conditions that commonly determine whether a behavior plan can be implemented accurately, consistently, and sustainably in school settings. The B-FIT Ed evaluates systems and conditions, not educator performance or student characteristics.
B-FIT Ed may be used when:
A behavioral intervention or behavior plan is proposed for a school setting
A behavior plan is not producing expected outcomes
A consultant is asked to identify potential barriers for implementation
A team is considering whether a plan has the necessary resources to be successful in the targeted environment
B-FIT Ed does not:
Evaluate personnel
Determine IEP placement or eligibility
Replace functional assessment or clinical judgment
Serve as a fidelity checklist
