Behavioral Fit and Implementation Tool (B-FIT Clinical)
Please read the following before beginning
Purpose
The B-FIT Clinical is a structured decision-support tool used to evaluate whether a behavior intervention is appropriately designed for implementation in home- and clinic-based settings. It can rate the Behavior Technician, the caregiver, or both as separate implementers, since each faces distinct training, environmental, and support realities. The B-FIT Clinical evaluates systems and conditions, not the competence or character of the people being rated.
B-FIT Clinical may be used when:
› A plan is proposed for home- or clinic-based delivery
› A plan is not producing expected outcomes
› A BCBA wants to identify barriers before intensifying services
› A team wants to check whether the Behavior Technician, the caregiver, or both have what they need to succeed
B-FIT Clinical does not:
› Evaluate personnel or parenting
› Determine authorization or service hours
› Replace functional assessment or clinical judgment
› Serve as a fidelity checklist

Assessment Context Step 1 of 6
Caregiver
Rate the caregiver track only
Behavior Technician
Rate the Behavior Technician track only
Both
Rate both tracks in tabs
Please choose who you're assessing before continuing.
Rate the Behavior Technician track based on the least-prepared or newest Behavior Technician currently on this case. This ensures the score reflects the actual risk to consistent implementation, not an average that could mask a gap.
Domain A — Understanding & Skill
Does each implementer understand the plan and have the skill to execute it?
BT — /15 CG — /15
Item 2 in this domain refers to feedback given during initial training, before independent implementation began. Domain D's feedback item refers to ongoing feedback after independent implementation began — rate each based on its own timeframe.
Domain B — Setting Feasibility
Does the physical space, schedule, and stability of the setting support the plan?
BT — /15 CG — /15
The Behavior Technician track assumes a plannable, scheduled window. The Caregiver track assumes implementation may be needed at any moment, in any location — these items measure portability and adaptability rather than adequacy of a fixed setup.
Domain C — Implementation Supports & Data Use
Are systems in place to support accurate implementation and troubleshooting?
BT — /15 CG — /15
Domain D — Feedback, Reinforcement & Sustainability
Is implementer behavior supported and reinforced to promote sustained use?
BT — /15 CG — /15
